Keynote - Marina Gavito

Marina is currently an Innovation Director at USAA. In her role she builds and creates partnerships with high-tech startups for USAA Labs. She also oversees the strategic partnerships, academic partnerships, and manages the relationships with the local tech community.

Prior to USAA, Marina was at Rackspace for seven years holding various leadership and technical roles. She was also the founding Executive Director of Tech Bloc- a local tech advocacy group who helped rally support to keep rideshare in San Antonio as well as work with the city and county's economic development teams to make San Antonio attractive to a creative class of workers.

Marina chairs the MOVE San Antonio board, is on the the Ella Austin Community Center board, the St. Mary's University Alumni Association, and was a founding board member of New Leaders Council- San Antonio Chapter, is an appointee of Commissioner Wolff for the Bexar County Child Welfare Board, an appointee of Mayor Nirenberg on the Airport Systems Development Committee and is a recent County appointment to the VIA board. 

Marina graduated from St. Mary's University with her BBA and earned her MBA from DePaul Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. Marina was also a part of Leadership San Antonio (LSA) Class 40 and currently serves on the LSA Steering Committee.

Marina enjoys running (marathons and half-marathons) and spending time with her husband, George, and their daughter, Marielle.
